Indiana Women In Need Foundation Hosts 13th Annual Pink Pajama Party
The 13th annual Pink Pajama Party hosted by the Indiana Women In Need (I.W.I.N.) Foundation will be held on February 17th and 18th, 2017 at the Indianapolis Marriott North at Keystone at the Crossing. This annual signature fundraising event provides a night of pampering and fun for women throughout the state and all for a good cause! This overnight retreat includes complimentary spa and salon services Friday evening in addition to an exciting silent auction, dinner and dancing to the sounds of Living Proof. Guests are invited to join this party in their favorite pink pajamas and wake up the next day to a delicious breakfast and wrap-up activities. An annual sold out event, guests are encouraged to register on-line at www.iwinfoundation.org. This year’s Master of Ceremonies is WTHR’s Emmy award winning news anchor, Anne Marie Tiernon.
Funds raised from the Pink Pajama Party will support women in treatment for breast cancer throughout Indiana with individualized services and support such as house cleaning, gas and groceries, meal preparation, child care, lawn care, massage, and exercise classes.
Receiving treatment for breast cancer is exhausting…financially, physically and emotionally! Daily trips to radiation therapy are costly. Making meals or cleaning the house is tiring. Working full days is challenging. Too often the physical and financial strain of treatment causes women to give up their fight thereby losing their opportunity to receive treatment and their only true chance at a cure.
“Your foundation alleviated the worries of being able to get back and forth from the doctor and work. I can focus on more important matters, like getting through treatment. You will never understand how much this means to me and my family.” Terrie, 33, married mother of 3
Comments like these are heard every day at the I.W.I.N. Foundation. Because of I.W.I.N., women like Terrie are receiving the relief they need during treatment. They have gas in their cars to get to appointments, they have food on their table and their homes are cared for, as are their children.
Having assisted 3 women in the first year, I.W.I.N. now serves over 500 recipients statewide per year and more recently opened their doors to men with breast cancer. I.W.I.N. has delivered over $1.5 million dollars in services to individuals in all 92 Indiana counties.
