50th ABA Anniversary Celebration at One Bankers Life

50th ABA Anniversary Celebration at One Bankers Life. The 50th reunion of the electrifying American Basketball Association will benefit the Dropping Dimes Foundation, which gives back to deserving ABA players and personnel who provided significant entertainment and excitement to fans in the 1960s and 1970s. The legitimate rival to the NBA in its heyday, the American Basketball Association captured a large and extremely loyal fan base with its high scoring, fast tempo and stylish plays—including popularizing the three-point shot and the dunk contest. After the league gave so much to fans and the game of basketball, it’s time to give back to the people who made it great. Bob Costas will emcee, and 75-100 players will attend, including stars Artis Gilmore, Rick Barry, Dan Issel, David Thompson, Julius Erving, George Gervin, Spencer Haywood, George McGinnis, Slick Leonard, and Louie Dampier.
